Last year I made a Venetian mask. A piece of Italy in my house. Somehow this form reminds me the face of Victoria Beckham when she was younger. And thank you for visiting this blog and kind words, always yours, IV.
One great event has happened this week. It was the begining of Olympic games in Sochi and we all saw absolutely fantastic opening ceremony! Go, Russia! I am so proud of my country and my people. They made really amazing and fabulous show based on signs of our culture.
If (somehow!) you don't know anything about our culture or history and you did not understand what does that show mean, here I am to help you. I used pictures from random internet sourses.
The ballet was based on the legendary story, which is known for all over the world: "Peace and War" by Leo Tolstoy. The ballet shows the scene where Natasha Rostova went to her first dance. It is rather difficult book to read, I've read it when I was at school. Yes, it is in our school program, but most of people say, they fully understood this book only after they re-read it when they became older.
Three horses show the famous cultural sign of Russia and it is also old Russian way of harness horses. It was invented for a quick ride over long distances. Also it was a popular sign in art and movies for children. If you search pictures of it you will find fantastic vintage images with three stunning horses!
There was also shown a map of my city - Saint Petersburg. There you could see the Admiralty and other buildings. Seventeenth century was very important for our culture. Peter the Great (Pyotr I) led a cultural revolution that replaced some of the traditionalist and medieval social and political system with a modern, scientific, Europe-oriented, and rationalist system. He is still very popular nowadays, lots and lots of people come to visit one of the most beautiful city in the world - Saint Petersburg!
A train and red forms stylized on the sort of pictures by Kazimir Malevich. He was a famous Russian avant-garde artist, founder of suprematism. Remember his "black square"? Suprematism was an art movement, focused on basic geometric forms, such as circles, squares, lines, and rectangles, painted in a limited range of colors. Also I want to mention Wassily Kandinsky, who is one of my favourite painters. Both of them were the greatest representatives of the abstract art!
The black train symbolize the leap in the development of industry and turning the country into an industrial power. You could see wokers, who "build a future". Then there were dancing students and main thing of the any society - "kids". Our kids are our gold!
I hope, that this little information was helpful and interesting. But I want to mention some facts that I did not like at all. I did not like the behavior of foreign mass media groups in the social networks! Somebody does not agree with our anti-LGBT law and tells our president what to do! And what else, oh yes... they mention human rights!! WHAT?!! What kind of human rights are you talking about? You, from your countries did and still do enough for defilement of the people from all over the world, mostly young ones. (Twerk Miley one more time!) Now evolution is questioned.
Okay, you can fuck individuals of the same sex, but please, do not shout about it everywhere, do not propagate it. I have friends-homosexualists, they are quite nice people and I do not care whom they fuck in the ass, but I DO NOT SUPPORT homosexuality at all! That's abnormal and, come on, don't say that is okay, you forget that we live in different countries with different mentality and upbringing. That's it! I am upset that you sometimes pay attention on things that are not connected with sport...
If you found any grammar mistakes, please tell me, I am still learning this beautiful language. Thank you! And let me know what things you want to know about Russia but afraid to ask, I try to expand your knowledge about my country.
P.S. How could you ever compare hunger games (part 2 failed anyway) and Olympic games? Involution detected.
